Thanks Mary… I adore characters. I had an elder fellow at my house this morning … picking up trash for dump… and OH do I wish I’d had my notebook! Fascinating! It’s good to be ble to appreciate people!
A thoughtful and thought provoking piece. My husband worked nights at the post office and dug (in Northern Nevada)for old bottles on the weekends. He also raised pigeons, and he loved those little birds. He was one of the characters that made up the west at one time, and he knew many other characters. Is the world devoid of these people now, or do we just no longer see the wonder of their lives? Thank you for this perceptive article.
Such a great story Darby. . .
Thanks Sigrid…. Unforgettable people in that little town in the hills.
